Good day Metalists.
It has been months since this site has seen some activity as it turns out finding a power source for your laptop is a little more difficult than I’d previously expected. However, we are back! And with a smoother site, something that I’d been hoping would work since we’d moved into the van. As Engel and I have been grinding through the last days of our jobs and ready to move on to greener pastures, we had decided (Somewhere in the middle of our toil) That we would like to experience what Vanlife is all about: Travel. We had been struggling to decided between Amsterdam and Portugal, but after a unanimous decision, decided that greener pastures are what we really want (Literally). In about Two weeks time we will be taking the ferry from Harwich UK to Hook of Holland, and from there, drive all the way up to Amsterdam. It is going to be quite an experience driving on the opposite side of the road as this is something I’ve never encountered in all my travels.
We are well and truly happy in our new environments; driving to and from our little town and parking on every patch of grass we could fit a Transit on. It hasn’t been all plain sailing, however, as day to day life remains un-suprisingly similar to regular ‘flat-living’ city life with regards to work and commitments. This can sometimes feel like a hindrance, although a little patience can see you through to a holiday like the one we have now.
For those interested in starting the van life, I implore you to do so, presuming you have a strong mind and the desire to see more in life than the grey monotony of work/sleep/repeat. And if this is the case, stay tuned for more posts on this site for tips and tricks to living your own journey with Qliphoth and Engel. Keep your eye out for podcasts soon!
