If you’ve seen my Instagram page or know me in person, you’ll know that my partner and I both follow a vegan diet plan. This is not something I advertise for a multitude as reasons. One of which I outline in the Podcast, but there’s a little more to it. If you’ve ever met a millitant vegan in real life, you’ll know that some of their opinions can overshadow everything else in a conversation. That can be frustrating for Vegans and non-Vegans alike.
We first noticed the benefits following this diet while watching a multitude of YouTube documentaries. There is a lot of data correlating various bodily desieses to eating meat and dairy which seems to be very unspoken about. With further research and realisations, we concluded to give it a shot. In the beginning, we found it very easy.
Making the transition didn’t give me any of the problems I was expecting and read about. It became quite natural, and even pleasurable. When you have a personal connection to you food, eating become much more than hitting your calories or staying alive. It becomes something you love.
We did have a short break when I broke Veganism last year, having the old excuses such as “I didn’t have time, and the classic excuse “Everyone else is eating it”. It didn’t take long to get back on board and learn from mistakes and feel that the experience made me stronger today than ever before.
It’s now been 9 months or so since being Vegan again and the health benefits are endless. Dare I say, we’ve not been sick once since doing this. I’m happier, healthier, and more conscious than ever about what I put in my mouth. Reading every label religiously teaches you what goes in your food and why it’s important. You’ll question chemicals with names that can’t be pronounced. You’ll question the safety, processes, hygiene, and things you’d never imagined to ask.
The resources online are endless, and if you want to make the transition, there is an endless amount of information and support. You’ll find a community here, something that will bind you with millions of other people seeking the same truths I what they eat.
